Nurturing Your Growth

At the League Against Cruel Sports, we believe that when individuals leave our organisation, it should be to pursue bigger and better opportunities. We foster an environment where every team member has a meaningful chance to contribute and work autonomously, enabling personal and professional growth. Our commitment to training and development is underscored by the understanding that investing in our people benefits both their long-term careers and our shared mission for better animal outcomes.

Training Initiatives

Induction and annual refreshers:

We have a structured onboarding process to welcome you to our League family. New joiners receive fundamental internal training during their induction, complemented by annual refreshers in key areas such as health and safety and information security.

Investment:

Each year, we have a dedicated learning and development budget, affirming our commitment to ongoing development.

Developing the team:

Our collaborative environment encourages knowledge sharing and a growth mindset. We run a variety of internal tailored training sessions across the year, including regular online League Learning sessions. In addition, our eLearning platform provides access to courses and a video library on hundreds of topics. We maximise development opportunities through learning, mentoring and coaching.

Stretching ourselves:

Every team member collaboratively establishes goals with their manager, focusing on role responsibilities, League strategy, and individual professional development. We regularly evaluate and celebrate our successes and learning curves. We welcome opportunities to broaden your experience through avenues such as assigning challenging projects, testing innovative new ideas, secondments and paid time off for volunteering

Reaching your full potential:

Our performance review has a dedicated section called ‘Moving Forwards’ that focuses on training needs, development desires and career aspirations, fostering continuous improvement. We also offer ‘career conversations’ with the Director of People & Culture to discuss your long-term career goals and help you to identify a development plan and pathway to achieve your objective.

Inclusive opportunities:

We commit to making training and development opportunities accessible to all staff, ensuring fair distribution across departments and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Your Success Journey

Our training initiatives at the League are not just policies; they represent our dedication to your professional growth and the success of our collective mission. Together, let's create a learning culture that elevates not only individuals but also the outcomes we strive for in the world of animal welfare.
