Making a Will helps ensure your loved ones are cared for and protected, while also offering a chance to make a difference to the causes you care about. By including the League Against Cruel Sports in your Will, you’ll be helping to protect animals and stand against cruelty for generations to come.
We are truly grateful to everyone who considers leaving such a powerful gift. If you’re thinking about making a Will, or updating one you already have, these simple steps will guide you through how to do so.

You don’t need to be wealthy to include a charitable gift in your Will. No matter its size - big or small - your contribution will help protect wildlife for future generations. There are different ways that you can include a gift to the League:
Residuary gift: This is a percentage of what is left of your estate once other gifts and taxes have been paid. Supporters often choose to leave anything from 100% to 1%.
Pecuniary gift: This is a fixed sum of money.
Specific item: You can leave a particular item you own. such as a piece of jewellery or painting.
-
Appoint up to four executors to carry out the terms of your Will. They can be relatives, friends, or legal advisers.
-
We would always advise that you use a solicitor or professional Will writing service to prepare your Will. Details of local solicitors can be found on the Law Society website:
Law Society: England and Wales
The League also works in partnership with Octopus Legacy enabling you to write your Will for free * online, in person or over the phone.
*Applies to simple Wills only. Discounts are applicable for wills with trusts.

If you do choose to include the League in your Will – thank you. By telling us about a gift pledged in your Will, you’re helping us plan for the future. We would love the opportunity to thank you and keep you up to date on our vital work. We also respect your decision to keep your pledge private if you prefer.
Gifts left in Wills makes up more than half of the League’s income. Our vital work is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
“Your support doesn’t just fund a cause, it powers vigilance, fuels intelligence, and strengthens the fight against cruelty to animals in the name of ‘sport’. Through you, our supporter funded Animal Crimewatch team can continue to expose the truth, support vital campaigns, and equip those on the front line to gather evidence in support of prosecutions. The legacy you leave is not only measured in what you give, but in the lives of animals saved because you chose to act.”
Jodie & Michelle, Animal Crimewatch
