Government hunting consultation
The government consultation on strengthening hunting laws has now closed. Thanks to animal welfare campaigners across the country mobilising to end hunting with dogs once and for all, this has been one of the most responded to Defra consultations of all time.
The League has been urging government to go further than just consulting on trail hunting, and it appears they listened. With the public having been asked how the law can better protect wild animals more broadly, we can now hope for a ban that finally stops foxes, deer, otters, mink, and hares from being chased and killed by packs of dogs.
