EVERY ANIMAL DESERVES TO BE HEARD

Standing on the side of animals, we protect them from being harmed or killed in the name of ‘sport’.

The brutality of cruel ‘sports’ is often hidden and goes unheard. Although banned in 2004, hunting with dogs is sadly still happening, as hundreds of animals each year are still being harmed or killed.  With 192 registered hunts in the UK, last season alone we saw a 36% increase in calls from the public to our confidential Animal Crimewatch line. We also recoded 700 fox hunting incidents, which is a 52% increase from the previous season.

The evidence is overwhelming. We need your help to make the voices of animals louder, so that together we can protect animals from cruel ‘sports’.

The truth:

CUB HUNTING

Hunting and killing a live animal does not come naturally to a fox hound. Cub hunting is used as a training method for young hounds, where over a small area, fox cubs are pushed into the pack rather than involving a long chase. As many as 10,000 fox cubs may be illegally killed every year during cub hunting season.

TRAIL HUNTING

Trail hunting is an invention, which was triggered as a result of the Hunting Act 2004. Hunts now claim they follow a pre-laid animal-based scent trail instead of a fox - even though many hounds are still trained to kill. Terrier men are still present at trail hunts; their sole purpose is to terrify a fox out of hiding by sending terriers underground.
