Today the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service confirmed that the American government has reversed a ban on trophies from elephants killed in Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Jordi Casamitjama, Head of Research and Policy at the League Against of Cruel Sports said:

“It is sad to see that when many countries are beginning to take steps to address the problems of trophy hunting, the USA Government is now going backwards by reversing the good ban on importing  trophies from elephants killed in Zimbabwe and Zambia they achieved in 2014. The news most people expect to see is more bans on imports of hunting trophies from more species and from more countries, until trophy hunting stops altogether everywhere in the world, so this recent news from the US is both disappointing and worrying.”
