End trophy hunting at Woburn

This bank holiday proved to be just as productive as the last as the League joined forces with Bedfordshire Against Trophy Hunting on Monday, May 6 to demonstrate peacefully in Woburn against the trophy hunting that takes place at the Deer park. Around 50 supporters took part and lined the street leading to the entrance to the Deer park. Placards were waved, and thanks to the two ladies on the megaphones who lead the chants asking Woburn to end trophy hunting.

I can’t say Woburn were too pleased with this demo coming to their doorstep as the park rangers kept their eye on us from a distance and had a presence all day. So did the police who were very helpful in ensuring we had a safe space to protest and liaised with the deer park so we could do this.

League Supporters at the Trophy Hunting demonstration at Woburn Deer Park

Just like every other time we have leafleted in Woburn we were met with support and gratitude from locals and public for being there. Many were shocked when having a conversation with us or taking a leaflet. Cars honked their horns in support of the protest as cyclists rung their bells in support of the protest. It was a very successful day, thank you to all the supporters who came. We will be continuing to work with Bedfordshire Against Trophy Hunting to expose and end this cruel practice.
