Ways to help

Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is a tax efficient scheme that helps you donate to a chosen charity directly through your salary. The scheme enables regular donations through your salary, before tax is deducted, which makes your donation worth even more. Payroll Giving helps to provide charities, like the League Against Cruel Sports, with a regular income stream and gives employees a tax break on their donations.

Setting up Payroll Giving with the League Against Cruel Sports

To set up your Payroll Giving donations to the League follow these steps:

  1. Complete and sign the form available here.
  2. Give the form to whoever is responsible for payroll within your company or organisation. Your HR team will forward this form to the Payroll Giving Agency that your employer uses. If your employer is not registered with a Payroll Giving Agency, please contact the League and we can help guide them through setting this up.
  3. Send a copy of the form to The League Against Cruel Sports, New Sparling House, Holloway Hill, Godalming, Surrey GU7 1QZ

How your donation does more

The cost to you as an employee is much less than the amount you pledge to donate, as the tax you pay is donated to the League.

The League's Poet in Residence - Ronnie Goodyer

We are proud to have Ronnie Goodyer, prizewinning poet, as the League’s Poet in Residence.

Ronnie is an experienced poet and publisher. He is director of Indigo Dreams Publishing which he runs with his partner Dawn Bauling. Indigo Dreams publish poetry collections, anthologies and poetry/prose magazines, and in 2017 were named as winners in the  ‘Most Innovative Publisher’ category in the annual Saboteur Literary Awards. Ronnie and Dawn also won the Ted Slade Award for Services to Poetry.

Proactive supporters of the League and the natural world, Ronnie and Dawn launched ‘For the Silent’, an anthology of poems, to support our work, in spring 2019. The anthology has received widespread acclaim and was recently named as ‘Best of 2019: Poetry’ in a national newspaper feature. The anthology includes poetry from the past, as well as modern writers, who all believe that persecuting animals for ‘sport’ should be a thing of the past. Indigo Dreams will kindly donate £2 from every book sold to the League. We would like to publicly thank Indigo Dreams for their continued support.
