Since 1959 the League Against Cruel Sports has been creating wildlife sanctuaries where animals can live free from persecution in the name of ‘sport’.

Our sanctuaries are home to millions of animals, such as deer, badgers, foxes, otters and an enormous variety of birds.

Become a member today and you can help defend, protect and provide a safe haven for wildlife.

As a member, you will be able to visit our largest sanctuary, Baronsdown, to see first-hand the impact your membership gift is having for animals. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our local herd of 100 deer and learn about the many other animals seeking refuge on our land.

By joining as a member, you will be helping us to:

  • Carry out undercover investigations to expose law-breaking and cruelty to animals. We also work with the police to prosecute criminals
  • Campaign for stronger animal protection laws. The League was instrumental in the introduction of the Hunting Act (2004), which makes it illegal to hunt with packs of dogs, and we are now working to extend the Act to offer even more protection for animals
  • Create wildlife sanctuaries where animals can live free from persecution in the name of ‘sport’

Your membership will make a huge difference for animals all year round:

  • £2 a month across the year could help pay for the fuel costs of an investigator for the day, helping to capture evidence of wildlife crime and illegal dog fighting
  • £3 a month across the year could help fund a public awareness campaign, calling for stronger animal protection laws to prevent cruelty and abuse through blood sports
  • £5 a month across the year could help support the vital care of our wildlife sanctuaries – cruelty-free zones, where animals can live without the threat of being killed for sport.
