News, Blog & Research Blog Baronsdown gets bendy What better way to get in touch with nature and get healthier, than by attending a yoga retreat at our Baronsdown sanctuary in Somerset? We held our first yoga weekend over the weekend of September 14, attended by supporters and staff alike. The day was split into three yoga classes, plus a tour of Baronsdown where we were greeted with the sight of a huge herd of beautiful wild deer. In fact, when we arrived on the Friday afternoon Roisin and I were lucky enough to see five stags obviously getting ready for rutting season! An amazing sight. Roisin, our qualified yoga teacher, leads our Gloucestershire supporter group and gave her time for free. She planned three different styles of yoga classes for our supporters to experience. You can read Roisin’s blog here on why she volunteers the League. We really appreciate Roisin doing this for us, thank you! Our CEO Andy Knott even joined in on Sunday and took part in all the classes. The only issue he had was he is so tall he was often holding onto the ceiling! He did brilliantly - as did all other attendees - some were already experienced in yoga and for others it was a new experience! We thank everybody who attended, and 100 percent of the money raised goes straight into protecting animals from cruel “sports”. If you are interested in attending any of our events in the future keep an eye on our event page or join a local supporter group.
