Who We Are

The League is a charity that brings together people who want to stop cruelty to animals in the name of sport.

Established in 1924, we successfully use lawful investigations, campaigning and lobbying to make a difference in the UK and around the world.

Our current campaigns include Hunting, Shooting, Bullfighting, Snaring, Dog Fighting, Racing Animals and the Badger Cull.

Brief History of the League

The League Against Cruel Sports was founded in 1924 by members of the RSPCA who were frustrated at its lack of action on the hunting issue.

What We Do

The League has developed effective ways to thwart cruel sports, gaining public support and causing difficulty for the people inflicting cruelty.

Our Achievements

Through our investigations and legal team we have worked closely with the police and CPS to ensure those who illegally hunt animals for sport are brought to justice.

Celebrity Support

A wide range of celebrities and public figures support the League’s work.
