No change to sunday shooting laws

No Change to Sunday Shooting Laws
Sundays and Christmas Day will continue to be a day off from the guns for gamebirds in England and Wales. The Government has decided to keep the current restrictions in place following a consultation on the Game Act last year.
The League welcomed the news having led a coalition of interest groups to campaign against the proposal. The League believed that removing the current ban on Sunday game shooting and allowing shooters to kill birds for “sport” seven days a week would represent a serious set back for animal welfare and would disturb the activities of other countryside users. 90% of respondents to the consultation did not support the proposal to allow Sunday shooting.
