Working with the police

working with the policeTo date there have been over 150 convictions under the Hunting Act and figures recently released by the Ministry of Justice show that in 2009 there was the equivalent of one conviction every week under the Act.

We recognise that the police have all manner of problems and crimes to deal with, and that is why the League work closely with the police on enforcement and why we provide, with the permission of ACPO, free specialised training to the police and the League's legal department only submits the strongest cases to the police after vetting by a retired police officer and solicitor.  Statements and other exhibits are professionally prepared to minimise police investigation time.

Regardless of whether or not the Act is ever to be changed or repealed, it is in force and law enforcement agencies have a duty to uphold the law.
