What Are We Doing?

anti-snaring campaignThe League Against Cruel Sports is working to end snaring. We have made great strides in raising awareness but we want to see the law changed to end snaring and help prevent animals getting caught in snares.

  • The League works in the countryside to expose the cruelty of snaring.
  • We are campaigning for snares to be made illegal throughout the whole of the UK and is currently working hard in Scotland and Northern Ireland for such legislation to be included unter their new Wildlife and Natural Enivronment Bills passing through Holyrood and Stormont.
  • We investigate abuses of today's weak and poorly-enforced laws.
  • We asked vets what they thought about snares: 91% of respondents wanted a ban on these cruel traps.
  • We lobby the European Union for tougher action.
  • Our political team is making the case for legislation in Parliament.
  • We get the horrific facts out in reports and surveys.
  • Our campaign puts snaring into the media spotlight.
  • Our campaign brings together people from all over the country who want to see an end to these cruel traps.

We build partnerships with other charities and campaigning groups to see an end to snaring in the UK including:
