Scotland Campaign

The League Against Cruel Sport's priority in Scotland is to end the unnecessary suffering caused by the ongoing use of snares.

Since devolution Scotland has tackled the issues of cruelty to animals head on by implementing important legislation to end suffering. Often Scotland has led the way on this, being the first to end hunting with dogs through the Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act 2002. Scotland was also the first UK Government to pass the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006.

However, there is still work to be done.

The Scottish Government failed to act when it had the chance to make these traps illegal in 2008. Join our campaign and help us end the use of snares for good.
