Donate in Memory

Making a donation to the League Against Cruel Sports in memory of someone who was special to you is a unique way to ensure that their memory lives on, whilst paying tribute to the issues that were important to them.

At your request, the League can set-up a ‘Living Memory Fund’ in your loved one’s name. Friends and family members may then make contributions to this fund. A great comfort at a time of loss, a Living Memory Fund celebrates a life, whilst helping to end cruelty to animals for sport.

Katrina Abel of Portishead was widowed in 2009. In tribute to her husband, Katrina set-up the Simon Abel Living Memory Fund in support of the League. After telling family, friends and colleagues, over £1,000 was raised in remembrance of Simon, who abhorred cruel sports. Simon’s family members have made special contributions to his Living Memory Fund on important dates, such as his birthday and at Christmas. Katrina has taken great comfort in the fact that Simon would have been very proud of his Living Memory Fund, and she is always pleased to see the amount raised in his memory increase.

Donations in remembrance of someone, no matter how small, can go a long way to helping us continue our work against animal abuse.

If you would like more information on Living Memory Funds, and how you can pay tribute to someone whilst raising much-needed funds for the League, please contact James Robinson, Legacy Manager at jamesrobinson@league.org.uk or on 01483 524 251.

If you are organising a funeral, you may wish to ask friends and relatives of your loved one to make a donation to the League Against Cruel Sports instead of, or as well as, giving flowers at the funeral. Alternatively, you can instruct those who would like to give in memory to send cheques (payable to League Against Cruel Sports) directly to:

James Robinson
The League Against Cruel Sports
New Sparling House
Holloway Hill
Godalming
Surrey GU7 1QZ

Please ask them to include their name and address (so we can send them a thank you letter in receipt of their donation), and the name of the loved one.

Thank you for thinking of the League Against Cruel Sports at such a sensitive time.
