Protect animal keyrings are back due to popular demand!

Written by Emma on 07 August, 2012 : 13:30

After a successful introduction last Christmas, we have decided to re-launch our Protect Animals Regular Gift Keyring promotion, now once again available to order online

This type of on-going, reliable income enables us to plan our work more effectively in the longer term. It also reduces admin costs, helping us to save more animals.

A small regular gift, from as little as £3 per month, will help us in our work to bring an end to cruelty to animals in sport, helping to protect: bulls, lions, badgers, foxes and dogs in the following ways:

Bulls
We're campaigning for an end to bullfighting. It's simply disgraceful that this cruel sport still goes on. Every year, tens of thousands of bulls are brutally maimed and killed in countries across the world.

Lions
Trophy hunting is the stalking and killing of wild animals including lions for sport. Since 1996, customers of UK and EU travel companies have slaughtered over 16,000 endangered animals including lions, bears, leopards and elephants. The League campaigns to see this multi-million pound international industry abolished.

Badgers
Badgers are at risk of being killed in large numbers to allegedly prevent the spread of disease. The League campaigns against this and, supported by scientists, argues that there is a better way.
Badgers are also used to fight dogs and other animals for sport and are often victims of indiscriminate snaring. The League works with the police to expose and convict the perpetrators of such cruelty.

Foxes
Foxes are hunted and killed illegally for sport. The League monitors the people involved and works with the police to stop them. After 80 years of campaigning, 2004 gave the League its proudest moment with the passing of the Hunting Act, successfully banning hunting for sport. The Act is under constant threat of repeal and we work tirelessly to protect it.

Dogs
Although banned in 1835, there has been a 400% increase in dog fighting cases in recent years. The League works to expose and end this suffering. Our investigations have also shown that dogs are used by hunters to fight foxes underground. We gain evidence and help convict those involved.
