The League brings you filmstars, rock bands and a free drink

Written by on 21 September, 2011 : 14:09

This weekend at Labour Party Conference, there is only one fringe event that brings you a film trailer, a rock band and a FREE drink.

On Sunday night the League Against Cruel Sports brings you a trailer of the film ‘A Minority Pastime’ which is narrated by legendary actor Patrick Stewart. There will then be quick thoughts on the film from League Chief Executive, Joe Duckworth, and Chris Williamson MP (League Trustee).

As if this was not enough, following the film we are bringing you a performance by the world’s only Parliamentary Rock band: MP4!

MP4 are Kevin Brennan MP (guitar and vocals), former MP Ian Cawsey (bass guitar and vocals), The Rt Hon Greg Knight MP (drums and percussion) and Pete Wishart MP (keyboards).

They are the first - and currently the world's only Parliamentary Rock band. MP4 have helped to raise over half a million pounds for charity since their first gig in 2004. With a growing cross party fan base that includes Prime Minister David Cameron, current Labour leader Ed Miliband and former Ugly Rumours lead singer and guitarist Tony Blair, they have regularly performed before Ministers and MPs as well as the public.

The evening starts at 10pm in Concourse Fringe Room 5 in the ACC Liverpool, and carries on until Midnight, so it is definitely the place to be for those that want to carry on the conference party.

The League will also be providing the first drink free to all attendees before 10.30pm and there will be a cash bar throughout. Priority entrance will be to Labour delegates, but the room should be large enough to house all MP4 fans.
