Last week a MP close to the campaign for a repeal of the Hunting Act admitted that they do not have enough MPs to win such a vote. They did say, however that “
A list has been drawn up of people thought to be persuadable - and they are being wined and dined”.
The League has been posting responses from all MPs on how they intend to vote, with the cooperation of other animal welfare organisations.
321 MPs will vote against a repeal of the Hunting Act
254 MPs will vote for a repeal
15 MPs will abstain on the vote
24 MPs are undecided about which way to vote
27 MPs have not responded
9 MPs cannot vote
We have just received a response from the last Labour MP yet to indicate their voting intention and so we now know the view of every single Labour MP.
Unfortunately, we are still waiting to hear from 2 Liberal Democrat MPs, 4 DUP MPs and 21 Conservative MPs. All of them are listed below and if they represent your constituency then you can email them

We imagine that this list will feature prominently in the hunters 'wine and dine' list. Unfortunately for them, they will find that a growing number of MPs are accepting that the country is not willing to entertain the notion of a return to cruelty. They are also not convinced by attempts to 'license cruelty' and no amount of fine wine and food will be able to convince them otherwise.
